Why Australian SPF Standards Matter

Australia is home to some of the harshest UV conditions in the world, which is why sunscreen standards are highly regarded globally.

All Airyday sunscreens are developed and tested to meet Australian sunscreen regulations and are listed with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) as primary sunscreens.

This means our formulas undergo rigorous testing for SPF protection, broad-spectrum coverage and water resistance, giving you confidence your sunscreen is designed to perform.

All Airyday sunscreens:

  • Are developed to Australian SPF standards
  • Carry a TGA AUST L number
  • Offer SPF50 or SPF50+ protection
  • Provide broad-spectrum UVA + UVB coverage
  • Include water-resistant formulas with up to 40 minutes water resistance
  • Are developed and made in Australia

Not all SPF-labelled products are tested equally.

Some skincare and makeup products may contain SPF ingredients, but their primary purpose is hydration, coverage or cosmetic wear rather than dedicated sun protection.
Airyday sunscreens are classified as primary sunscreens, meaning sun protection is their primary function and the SPF claims are required to undergo testing and regulatory assessment.

That’s why we believe sunscreen should be more than an afterthought – it should be an essential part of your daily skincare routine.

Why daily SPF matters

Daily UV exposure can contribute to visible signs of skin ageing, pigmentation and long-term skin damage, even on cloudy days.

Sunscreen helps protect skin from UVA and UVB rays by absorbing or reflecting UV radiation before it can penetrate the skin. Consistent daily use is one of the most effective ways to help protect your skin and maintain healthy-looking skin over time.

At Airyday, we created sunscreen designed to feel like skincare – lightweight, wearable and made for everyday use.

So whether you choose Airyday Skinscreen or another SPF, we always recommend choosing a dedicated sunscreen you genuinely love wearing daily.

Always read the label and follow the directions for use. Apply generously before sun exposure and reapply frequently. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and wear protective clothing, hats and eyewear when exposed to the sun.
